November 28, 2010 blog

We had a guest speaker that was a wedding photographer, I was very interested in that type of photography. I am going to try and find a job working at a catering hall helping one of the wedding photographers.

November 21 Blog

well I am glad the research project is over. I did find out a lot of info regarding Fine Art portrait Photography. I would still be interested in that as a career. I would be more interested in opening up my own studio and having my own business than working for someone else.

November 07, 2010 Blog

I stopped into the Art Gallery in Babylon Village that I'm selling my photographs in, to bring in some other shots to sell. I posted one of them, it' the sunflower. I sold 4 more photographs this month. The Art Gallery has several Long Island Artists. The Gallery sells photographs as well as Oil/water colors. One of the artists that are in the gallery is Bill Kinney he has some amazing photographs of boardwalks and other Long Island scenery. You can find his work in most Art Galleries on Long island. I think its pretty cool that I'm selling my photographs in the same place he is.

Time Management wow really late

I  have realized my time management skills are bad. I don't spend enough time on school work. After school I go straight work and then come home and go out with my girlfriend and friends and I don't get enough sleep. I have to budget my time better.

Diversity worksheet#5 October 31, 2010

My overall impression of the exibit was, I like what they were trying to tell.

Diversity literally means different and I feel as an artist/photographer you can show a lot with one piece of work.
"Singing overcome" is my favorite that would make people re-examine their views.
Everyone is in a different place in their life and you need to see that no matter what we are all human and the same.
The exhibit expanded my mind its nice to see expression through artwork and if we are to see change in the world it starts with us we are all one no matter what race we are, people are people.

dark room October 27, 2010

I know this post is a little late, better late than never. I have been trying to convince my dad to turn his office into a darkroom. I am getting all the equipment that's needed for the dark room. I like working with film, However I understand that it is a digital world and you need to know both.

October 03,2010 Architecture

After taking the photographs of the architecture of the school I have been noticing the architecture of different buildings. I was visiting my friend in college last weekend in Albany, he goes to Suny Albany and the buildings on campus had great design, I was wishing I had my camera with me. I also went to Fordham University another weekend and that school has amazing Gothic architecture. The buildings looked like they were in a Harry Potter movie. The buildings on that campus would of made great photographs.

Blog September 22,2010 "Selling My Photographs"

Well summer is coming to and end and I have been selling my photographs in Ocean Beach on Fire island. The Art gallery is named The Laughing Gull, they sell local artist's artwork They have painters, photographers jewelery makers, pottery etc.I's a nice feeling to be able to sell your photographs to know that people appreciate your photographs and pay money for them. Each month I would get a check and a list of all the photos I sold. The Gallery closes at the end of  September so I will be picking up whatever wasn't sold. I sold 5x7 matted and 8x10 matted photographs. I also had two framed pieces that were sold.. The boardwalk on my profile is one of the photos I sold. That photo won third place in the Bacca photography competition out of  approximately 90 photographs. I really enjoy taking pictures of  things at the beach  especially boardwalk scenes. I also sell my photos in a gallery in Babylon Village, they are open all year long. Babylon Village also had a artist fair that I attended this summer. I am hoping that I can pursue a career in photography in the future.
